losed for renovations early in 2006, the Club didn’t
re-open for members until August, 2007. Even then,
construction continued on the re-design of the ballroom and
the build-out of the new second-floor oceanfront restaurant,
Tydes, which took another year.
On Thursday, September 25, the entire club was officially
declared “done,” and a party befitting its gloried history
was thrown in celebration. Highlights included a Louis
Vuitton fashion show that took place on a runway especially
constructed over the 51-meter-long pool that dominates the
interior.
In addition to the fashion show, a silent auction featured a
hand-carved coral fish pendant with a diamond wave accent
and 18kt white gold collar donated by Silverhorn and valued at
$6,500. Other donations included a commemorative painting
by Emiliano Campobello ($5,000), a three-piece Louis Vuitton
travel set ($3,300), two nights in an executive suite at Four
Seasons Hotel New York ($7,500), and four nights in a two-
bedroom suite at Las Ventanas in Los Cabos ($10,500). All
proceeds were directed to Heal The Ocean.
