Montecito, with its pristine beaches, picturesque churches, and world-renowned hotels, is a
destination for couples, young and old, to begin their lives together. Here, we are pleased to
feature seven couples who tied the knot in our seaside enclave.

shley Mackenzie and Adam Buckley
say it was “love at first sight” when a
mutual friend set them up in 2007. Five
years later, the couple were married on an autumn evening
at the Montecito Country Club, on October 5, 2012.
The groom-to-be proposed at Wayfarers Chapel
in Palos Verdes, on a lawn overlooking the ocean and
Catalina Island. After a romantic sunset picnic, he got
down on bended knee and asked for Ashley’s hand in
marriage. The couple’s friends joined them later for a night
of celebration.
A UC Santa Barbara alumnus, Adam frequently
brought Ashley to his old stomping grounds, walking
along Butterfly Beach, hiking Santa Barbara’s trails, and
surfing Rincon. The couple knew it was the perfect place
for their “I dos.”
Ashley’s southern roots drew her to Montecito’s
traditional Spanish architecture, and the couple
decided to hold their marriage ceremony in front
of Montecito Country Club’s picturesque windows,
overlooking Santa Barbara. The bride planned an
elegant and charming affair, with natural linen
tablecloths, white and silver accents, and pops of coral,
pink and green flowers. The 170 guests sat at tables
