Clea Costa & Dan Van Voorhis
lea Costa and Dan Van Voorhis kicked off their wedding weekend on June 21,
2013, with a rehearsal dinner and celebration at Montecito’s Coral Casino.
The seaside-themed party began with coral-hued martinis, surf music, and
appetizers on the oceanfront terrace, followed by outdoor dining on white leather
furniture surrounded by ocean-inspired décor. Held on the eve of the summer “super moon,” the
event featured wild late-night dancing as a Southern California beach band played. The guests were
then treated to a surprise performance by Chris Isaak that lasted until the stroke of midnight, in
an after party lounge that had been hidden from the guests (and the bride!), only to be revealed as
dessert and coffee were served.
The next day, the couple, who met through mutual friends and dated several years before tying
the knot, were married on the San Ysidro Ranch’s upper lawn. The bride walked down a custom
distressed wood aisle, flanked by matching troughs filled with white hydrangeas and two custom
floral-filled wooden urns atop linen-inlaid pillars. The ceremony took place under an arched
wooden canopy created just for the occasion, while the bride’s two daughters and the groom’s three
sons stood by their parents.
After cocktails, guests were treated to a four-course dinner and then entertainment, which included the Rainbow Room Orchestra and the top Frank Sinatra
impersonator in the country. Guests danced on the custom mahogany dance floor, surrounded by distressed wooden dining tables, iron and crystal chandeliers,
and candlelight. The bride and groom, who love music, had one last surprise in store for their guests; a Las Vegas DJ was flown in for some late-night dancing in
the Hydrangea Cottage.
Clea and Dan each spent 13 years single, raising their respective children, before agreeing to be set up by mutual friends. The couple, who were engaged in
Paris, mini-mooned in Napa, and have a longer trip to Italy planned.
