Joy Hadnott
& Zachary Lewis
oy Leslie Hadnott and Zachary Abraham Lewis were married on August
20, 2011, at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito. The couple met a few years
earlier while living in the same apartment building in Studio City, but it took
Zach eight months to ask his future wife on their first date.
Two years into their courtship, the adventurous couple went on a date in which they
pretended not to know each other. They showed up separately to a Beverly Hills restaurant,
and he sent her a drink via the bartender. He asked her to join him at his table for dinner,
while she kept character and played hard to get a while longer. She finally accepted his dinner
invitation, only to be led to a prearranged table where Zach bent down on one knee and
asked for her hand in marriage.
Their San Ysidro Ranch wedding was a romantic, intimate affair with an outdoor
ceremony in the gardens followed by dinner in the Hydrangea Cottage. The bride says she
imagined a relaxed yet memorable experience for her guests, many of whom came from Texas
for the occasion. Guests were seated at two long tables accented with gold stemware and
topped with bud vases filled with dahlias, hydrangeas, lilies, and
vintage tea roses. The bride, wearing a Jenny Packham dress,
paid homage to her southern roots by giving delicious mini
bread puddings as favors. Spanish guitarist Anthony Ybarra kept
the romance going with soft music during dinner. “The entire
event was pure magic,” the bride recalls.
The couple, who welcomed their first daughter on July 17,
2013, honeymooned in France and Italy.
