Oh, and there’ve been several brushes with royalty.
“I got to introduce my parents to Prince Charles. At that point, even my mother
was won over,” he says, chuckling.

otivating him through it all were the same basic imperatives that drove
Lindbergh. “You’re taking your life in your hands, but not in a foolish way.
You’re not driving a hundred ten miles per hour down the freeway. You’re taking
your life – taking your destiny – in your hands in the best way,” says Nott. “And the
freedom! You know, there’s no other way you can go from country to country without
stopping at passport control!”
As for the beauty, he says, “I think the beauty is kind of self-apparent.
One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever done, and I’ve done it four or
five times over the years, is watch the sun come up while flying along in an
