often found at the beach when not otherwise gainfully
employed.

Confidential, as well as for corporate clients such as MTV,
Yahoo!, Citibank, Logo and the Women’s Entertainment
Network.
Steven Libowitz
has reported on the arts and entertainment for more than 30
years, has published his work in daily and weekly
newspapers in New Jersey and California, as well as in
Santa Barbara magazine and a nationally syndicated
news service. When not as his computer or out on the
town, you’ll often find him playing volleyball at East
Beach, just a short jog from Montecito’s famous Butterfly
Beach.
April Horowitz
is founder and president of Heart of a Horse Foundation, a
non-profit devoted to promoting horse rescue and public
awareness of horse welfare. She is proud owner of two
equines: a paint named Alvin and a draft pony named
Diddy. She intends to dedicate the rest of her life to
helping horses in need.
Hattie Beresford
is a native of the Netherlands, and received her
Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential from University
of California Santa Barbara. She taught English and
American history for Santa Barbara School District for many
years and retired from teaching in 2004. When she is not
immersed in some dusty tome, she can be found on the
tennis courts, hiking trails, or out on a kayak marveling at
the dolphins. She and her husband, former Dos Pueblos
volleyball coach Mike Beresford, are avid campers and
travelers.
Lynn P. Kirst
has long been a member of Birnam Wood Golf Club, the latest
subject of her “Landmarks” series on noteworthy Montecito
sites. She pens the “Trail Talk” column for Montecito Journal,
and is a freelancer who has written for Western Art &
Architecture and The Bark magazines, Sierra Club, Santa
Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, Carriage and Western
Art Museum of Santa Barbara, and others.
